Blockchain Committee

MISSION

STA's Blockchain Committee provides a forum for sharing and discussing the latest blockchain technology-related issues in or affecting transfer agent functions, including best practices, proposed and recently passed legislation, litigation and other issues that can impact the industry. The committee will:

  • Participate in the development of “best practices” and policies;
  • Gather and analyze industry data regarding blockchain technology trends impacting transfer agent functions and distribute findings to STA membership and regulatory agencies where appropriate;
  • Identify areas where STA can potentially influence regulatory or administrative policies, or legislative changes, in ways that could positively impact investors, issuers, industry and operational compliance;
  • Address industry concerns regarding the utilization of blockchain technology in or associated with transfer agent functions; and
  • Liaise with the appropriate STA committees and external trade associations on interdisciplinary enrichment and impact, and in promoting the mission of the Blockchain Committee of the Securities Transfer Association.
